The Canadian College of Integrative Medicine (CCIM) is a Canadian educational institution dedicated to advancing evidence-informed education, research, and professional development in integrative health, culinary and lifestyle medicine, nutrition, and health & wellness coaching.
Founded in Montreal, Quebec, CCIM brings together contemporary scientific evidence, interdisciplinary education, and whole-person approaches to health and well-being. Through professional education, continuing education, research, and academic collaboration, the College supports learners and professionals in developing knowledge and skills relevant to evolving health and wellness environments.
Research and scholarly engagement are an important part of CCIM’s academic development. The College continues to develop academic relationships and initiatives that connect education, research, and whole-person health.

FOUNDER’S JOURNEY
From Personal Experience to a Vision for Whole-Person Health
The vision behind the Canadian College of Integrative Medicine (CCIM) grew from the personal, professional, and academic journey of its Founder and President, Alireza Asghari, PhD.
In 2012, while pursuing postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Pharmacy at Université de Montréal, Alireza experienced a significant health challenge that would ultimately influence the direction of his academic and professional journey. This experience prompted a deeper exploration of nutrition, lifestyle, and whole-person approaches to health and well-being.
This experience inspired Alireza to further his education in integrative medicine, ultimately earning a PhD in Integrative Medicine and expanding his involvement in research, scientific publications, and academic activities.
His academic journey has included research presentations, conferences, invited seminars, and scholarly engagement with academic institutions. His work has included a scholarly presentation associated with the Osher Center for Integrative Health at Harvard Medical School, as well as invited academic engagement with Georgetown University.
Today, Alireza continues his academic engagement as a Visiting Scholar with Georgetown University’s Division of Whole Person Health & Wellness, while leading CCIM’s vision of connecting evidence-informed education, research, nutrition, lifestyle, and whole-person health.
