An NBHWC Approved Training Program

Become a professional Health & Wellness Coach through an evidence-informed educational program designed to empower individuals to inspire meaningful and lasting lifestyle change.

The Integrative Health & Wellness Coaching Program at the Canadian College of Integrative Medicine (CCIM) combines the science of health coaching with lifestyle medicine, behavioural change, nutrition, culinary medicine, and whole-person health. The program prepares participants to support clients using internationally recognized coaching competencies while promoting sustainable improvements in health and well-being.

CCIM is proud to offer an NBHWC Approved Training Program. Graduates who successfully complete the program may apply for the National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) certification examination, provided they meet the current eligibility requirements established by the National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching (NBHWC).

Certification Pathway

Program Overview:

Our Integrative Health & Wellness Coaching Certificate is a hybrid program that combineslive online sessions, a self-paced curriculum, and weekly coaching practice sessions. Students engage in mentored coaching practice, where they receive personalized feedback and development-focused evaluations from experienced instructors with extensive backgrounds in health and wellness coaching.

In just five months, with a commitment of five hours per week, you can transform your client/patient relationships and be prepared to launch or enhance your health and wellness coaching practice.

Drawing from current research in professional coaching, lifestyle medicine, positive psychology, and mind-body interventions, students enrolled in the CCIM Integrative Health & Wellness Coaching (IWC) Certificate program will integrate and apply evidence-based, best practice approaches to support the well-being of others.

The Canadian College of Integrative Medicine emphasizes a holistic, person-centered approach to health and wellness coaching, with a strong focus on best practices and emerging research.

Completion Time: 20 Weeks

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that professional positions in Health Education are projected to increase by 13% between 2014 and 2024, indicating above-average job growth. Health education services are increasingly delivered through coaching, as evidenced by the rising number of coaching job advertisements.

Program Delivery:

The Integrative Health & Wellness Coaching Certificate program is delivered through attendance at a virtual Residential Conference, supplemented by online videoconferences, phone calls, and recorded videos.
